RIP: Sekou Sundiata, 1948–2007

On the morning of July 18, 2007 we lost another great Black man: Sekou Sundiata.

It's sad but until I heard about his passing, I never really delved that deep into his poetry. Watch his Def Poetry Jam performance - so fierce!

Vernon Reid wrote a great tribute in the Village Voice this week - read it here.

Just doing my part in adding some more web content with Sekou's name/photo in the effort to keep his legacy alive.

People with his spirit, mentality and courage don't come around too often.

Trinidad & Tobago photos, March 2007

These photos are long overdue... my 4-day trip to TT back in March 2007 was so relaxing, inspiring, yummy (i love doubles!) and enlightening.

Most of the photos in this album are from a beach we visited in Tobago.

I loved both Trinidad and Tobago for their foliage: lush and diverse - just growing wild all over the place, despite the construction and modernization happening around it.

Mr. Man Strikes Again

In the immortal words of Rakim: "It's Been A Long Time..."

I guess that's why I never kept a diary as a child, my patience and dedication for documenting with words is nonexistent.

The past couple of months have been full of life experiences that I will never forget: meeting my (half) brother Edi and traveling to the West Coast with my love, Mr. Man.

The first day of that sunny Cali trip, we found ourselves on the most beautiful beach I've been to in the USA so far, Half Moon Bay... and soon found out it was a covert nude beach!

On the beach we were inspired to take some model shots of Mr. Man.

Here's the best shot IMHO - isn't he handsome?
