No, I didn't watch the Super Bowl this year but when I heard that the Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver Santonio Holmes was named MVP I took notice.
I shot this photo of Santonio in 2006 before he was to be interviewed on SIRIUS NFL Radio, the 24/7 football channel on the then SIRIUS Satellite Radio service. It was a last minute photo request and I was very busy with my own job as Web Content Producer but I did the favor for our Sports Editor. I literally had just a few seconds to take the shot. I had no idea who's picture I was taking, only that it was one of the NFL draft picks that year. He was very shy and polite. He seemed nervous and yet happy to be there.
Although I had no idea who this young man was, there was a feeling in the room that something big was in his future. That something big happened when he scored the game-winning touchdown in Sunday night's Super Bowl.
